Last month, Muse played at home at the famous O2 Arena. Between an English atmosphere, surprises in the setlist and the discovery of a new opening act, let's go back to these two exceptional concerts with some pictures.
Friday, October 26th:
Initially, the Joy Formidable were supposed to open the ball but Ritzy Bryan (the singer) was sick. Finally fiN, a young band from West London had this heavy task. It was the first time they played in front of so many people and moreover, with not a lot of preparation because for the story, they were warned in the afternoon!
Anyway, these four boys were undaunted and did not lack of energy on stage. Their music, rather indie/rock received a warm welcome. A new band to follow ! They should released their debut album next year and you can listen to them on Soundcloud.
What to say about Muse? Playing at home is always something special, it undoubtedly contributed to make this concert exceptional, with of course, a big surprise in the setlist.
The people of the bleachers area absolutely occupied all the seats, even those behind the stage. For the occasion the staging has been slightly modified to allow spectators to see all the members of the band face to face at least once. Matt and Chris were moving frequently to meet everybody, for Dom, he turned to 360 degrees while playing drums.
The atmosphere was quite muscular and therefore pretty good! Each song played received a hero's welcome. At the half of the set when Matt sat down at the piano and said they were going to play a song Showbiz, connoisseurs have immediately thought it was going to be Falling Down, back live this year ... Wrong! To everyone's surprise the first notes that spread into the O2 Arena were Sunburn's ones, incredible!
Unlike the first dates of the tour, that evening Chris chose to interpret Save Me, plunging the London public in an aerial state.
The concert then continued as usual, the Roulette choosing Stockholm Syndrome which immediately resulted rocked the crowd !
At the end of the concert Matt asked the audience who was coming back the next day, many people answered positively !

Saturday, October 27th:
The opening act was ensured by the Joy Formidable, as on the first dates of the tour. I thought they would get a good reception in London but it was not the case. The audience was less receptive than Paris, strangely.
Muse quickly marked the difference from the day before, interpreting Map Of The Problematique at the beginning of the concert. The atmosphere was also somewhat different, less muscular but just as good.
Falling Down and Liquid State also made their return into the setlist and roulette chose ... Newborn! It's nice to see that the band offered two different and complementary concerts to the audience.
Like the good old days, they finished in style with Knights of Cydonia, which made everyone agrees on the power of this show !
